As the 2nd generation, he pivoted the family business and founded a Cleantech company called – Right People Renewable Energy (RPRE) in 2017. RPRE specialises in helping commercial and industrial clients switch from dirty fossil fuels to clean renewable solar energy, working mainly on off-grid projects in remote locations across Indonesia. The company has won numerous awards and recognition since inception, including obtaining B Corp certification in 2019. He strongly believes in sustainability and that family businesses can be a force for good, and should be guided by the triple bottom line of People, Planet, Profit.
Robin has been a long time member of the Family Business Network Asia since 2010 and serves on multiple committees. He chairs the Family Business as a Force For Good (FBFFG) working group in FBNA and also serves on the FBN International Polaris Committee. In 2019, he won the FBN NexGen Lombard Odier Award Winner at the FBN Global Summit in Udaipur, India.
Robin is a certified member of MENSA, graduated from the Singapore Management University (SMU) with double majors in marketing and law, and has an Executive Diploma in Directorship from the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID). He attained his certification as a Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) professional in 2017, and graduated with a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD (specialising in Family Business) where he was awarded the INSEAD Scholarship of Excellence.
He is the founder and director of SG Obituaries, a nonprofit organisation and action project winner in the 2nd National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) Company of Good Fellowship in 2018. He also serves on the Asia Board of Trustees for Forum for the Future, a registered charity focusing on reinventing the future to solve global sustainability challenges.
Robin enjoys outdoor sports, being out in nature, and is married with twin boys, who inspire and motivate him daily to make the planet a better place for future generations.
