YB Hannah Yeoh
Deputy Minister, Women, Family & Community Development
Member of Parliament, Segambut
Hannah Yeoh, aged 39, was the Speaker of the Selangor State Assembly from 2013-2018, making her the first woman Speaker and the youngest of any legislative body in Malaysia.
Prior to her election into Parliament, she served two terms in the State Assembly of Selangor as the state assembly person for the constituency of N31 Subang Jaya (2008-2018). She holds a Bachelor of Laws and was a practicing lawyer in Australia and Malaysia before venturing into politics.
YB Dr Ong Kian Ming
Deputy Minister, International Trade & Industry
Member of Parliament, Bangi
Dr Ong Kian Ming, aged 42, was elected as a first-time Member of the Malaysian Federal Parliament for P102 Serdang in the May 2013 General Election. Prior to becoming a Member of Parliament, Dr Ong was a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Policy Science and a regional consultant for the Blue Ocean Strategy Regional Centre at UCSI University. He was also formerly a policy analyst for SEDAR (Social Economic Development and Research Institute) and INSAP (Institute of Strategic Analysis and Policy Research). Prior to that, he was an associate consultant for the Boston Consulting Group in Kuala Lumpur.
Dr Ong was a Fulbright Scholar and holds a PhD in Political Science from Duke University in USA. He also has a Masters in Economics from Cambridge University and a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics. Prior to that he was an ASEAN Scholar in Singapore and completed his “O” and “A” levels in Raffles Institution and Raffles Junior College respectively.
