Virtual Masterclass: How to Solve Conflicts in Business Families

with Professor Dr Maurizio Andolfi

• Part 1 – Friday, 05 November 2021 (9.30am to 12.30pm MYT) •
• Part 2 – Friday, 12 November 2021 (9.30am to 12.30pm MYT) •

In this Masterclass, Prof Maurizio Andolfi will outline the major conflicts that could emerge in Business Families. According to Roy Williams and Vic Preisser (The future of estate planning, 2010), 70% of estates loose their assets and family harmony following the transition of the estate.

Prof Andolfi will focus on the intergenerational conflicts and emotional cut-off that can emerge between the first generation (the creator/s) and the second generation (the children). Siblings conflicts and rivalry in the passage of leadership and responsibility from one generation to another will be explored too. Then, the focus will shift on the grandchildren and their difficulty-inability to manage the wealth passed down to them by their grandparents and parents, threatening the continuation of family legacies. The danger that love and affection can be confused with money and wealth is always present in Business Families.
